Tarot Playing Cards, Ungarische Kaffeehauskarten

A faithful reproduction of Hungarian Kávéház kártja (coffee house) playing cards, depicting traditional Hungarian motifs and costumes, this deck was first designed by Mátyás Unger the Elder (1789–1862).

A natural progression for our shop and our love of paper, given the parallel narrative between card manufacturing and decorative paper making both utilising the craft knowledge of woodblock print.
